Professor Nikolaos Thomaidis had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Environmental Reference Laboratory (Çevre Referans Laboratuvarı) of the Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, for a 5-day seminar from September 25th to September 29th, 2023, entitled “Advanced Analytical Techniques for Investigating Emerging Pollutants in the Environment using Mass Spectrometric Techniques.”

The seminar was held as part of the European 6rbmp program, which is a Technical Assistance project aimed at developing river basin management plans for six basins (https://6rbmp.tarimorman.gov.tr/). The training program included lectures focusing on the development of advanced methodologies and HRMS data processing workflows, as well as practical hands-on training in sample preparation and instrumental analysis. These sessions were led by TrAMS group members and collaborators from the Environmental Institute.

This seminar serves as the starting point for future collaboration, focusing on water quality issues, environmental management, sustainable development and implementation of the European Legislation on surface and underground water quality.
